Bainbridge Township Mailbox Reimbursement Policy

In the event that the Township receives a request for mailbox replacement due to snow plowing damage, the Township, in its sole discretion, shall determine whether the Township equipment actually hit the mailbox, or damage was caused by the force of the snow off the plow. The Township will not repair or replace mailboxes or posts damaged by the force of the plowed snow. The replacement request must be dated and received by the Road Department within three (3) days of the incident.
In the event that the Road Department determines the Township equipment actually hit the mailbox the Township will reimburse up to fifty dollars ($50.00) toward the replacement of the mailbox, the reimbursement shall not exceed either actual costs or fifty dollars ($50.00) whichever is less. The resident shall be responsible for the replacement of the mailbox and/or post. The resident shall be responsible for demonstrating the cost of replacement to the Township.
Replacement mailboxes within the road right of way should be limited to a standard metal mailbox and a 4" x 4" wooden post or a two (2) inch diameter metal post (wall thickness should not exceed 0.155 in thickness).
